Freda Cannamela LaRosa

Freda Cannamela LaRosa, of Kensington, died June 3, 2011 peacefully at her residence after a long illness. She is survived by 2 sons, Lawrence LaRosa of Deer Park, WA and Dr. Theodore LaRosa of Kennesaw, GA. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Dr. Dolly McCall of Woodmont, CT and Mrs. Priscilla Burniston of Annandale, VA. She was a devoted daughter to the late Maria and Nicolino Cannamela and the widow of the late Samuel LaRosa. A New Britain native, she was a 49 year resident of Kensington. A graduate of New Britain High School, she spent the majority of her employed years at New Britain National Bank retiring in 1953 to start her family. She was a lifetime member of South Congregational-First Baptist Church in New Britain. Freda was a very compassionate soul who freely gave of herself to her family and friends. A special thanks is given to Jacinta Hambin, her devoted caregiver of three years. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11 AM at South Church, 90 Main Street, New Britain. Burial is at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Tuesday 6 to 8 PM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 45 Ash Street, East Hartford, CT 06108-3272.
