John J. Badal, Sr.

January 16, 1927 - March 19, 2010

John J. Badal, Sr., 83, of New Britain, widower of Victoria Eshoo Badal, passed away peacefully Friday March 19, 2010 at his home. Born in New Britain, son of the late Joseph and Apres Hormis Badal, John is a graduate of Berlin High School, Class of 1947 and has been a New Britain resident since 1953. He was employed as a Mechanic and later the Service Manager of Bristol Lincoln/Mercury becoming Crowley for 60 years, retiring in 2008. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in New Britain and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Newington. Surviving is a son, John J. Badal, Jr. and his fiance Marsha Dziob of Burlington; two granddaughters, Sabrina Badal of Bristol and Samantha Hemmerich and her husband John, also of Bristol; a great grandson, James Hemmerich; a special friend Donna Hansen of New Britain and her family; a brother, Elia Badal and his wife Gay of New Britain; a sister, Hanna Michalski of Berlin; several nieces and nephews. John will be greatly missed by his many friends and family. Besides his wife Victoria and his parents, John was predeceased by a brother, George Badal. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10 AM at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 147 West Main Street, New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours are Tuesday 4 to 8 PM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. Donations may be made to Hospice of Central CT, 205 West Main Street, New Britain, CT 06051.
