Marilyn Watras
August 12, 1938 - February 9, 2021
Marilyn (Woodhead) Watras, 82, of New Britain, widow of Leo J. Watras, Sr., passed away Tuesday (February 9, 2021) at her home. Born in Lewiston, ME, she was a New Britain resident since 1957. A graduate of Hartford Public High School, Class of 1956, she worked as a Computer Control Clerk for Northeast Utilities until her retirement in 1987. Marilyn was a member of St. Jerome Church, St. Katherine Drexel Parish in New Britain. Surviving is a daughter, Ramona Ann Watras of Canton; two sons, Leo Watras Jr. and his wife Marie of North Carolina; and Brian Edward Watras and his wife Robin of Florida; her companion and significant other, Francis “Frank” Gialluca of New Britain; a brother, William Woodhead of Maine; a sister, Rosalie Lovelace of Florida; many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Leo, she was predeceased by a son, Michael V. Watras; five brothers, Francis, Edward, Richard, Howard and Daniel; and six sisters, Evelyn, Lorraine, Loretta, Nancy, Leona and Maryann. A Memorial Mass in Marilyn's memory will be held Friday March 5, 2021 at 12:10PM at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, St. Jerome Church with Rev. John Granato officiating. There are no calling hours.
