Mary Grasso Pavano

June 3, 1922 - January 15, 2013

Mary Grasso Pavano, 90, of Hartford, widow of Frank Pavano, passed away Tuesday January 15, 2013 at Avery Heights in Hartford. A New Britain native and former resident, she lived in Hartford since 2007. Mary graduated from Glastonbury High School, class of 1940, and first worked in her family's business, Pola Marie Fashions. She later worked at Coating Products and then Peter Paul Electronics in New Britain for over 20 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. Ann's Church, New Britain and was in the Ladies Guild and Sacred Heart Society of the church. Surviving is a son, Carl J. Pavano and his wife Alvyra of Glastonbury; a daughter, Elaine Brasile and her husband James of Newington; a brother, Philip Grasso of Glastonbury; 4 grandchildren, Michael Pavano, his wife Lisa and their children, Seth, Lyvia, and Benjamin of Glastonbury; Amy Damato, her husband Eric, and their children, Katie and Joey of Newington; Lisa Brasile and her fiancé Michael Wosczyna of Menlo Park, CA; James F. Brasile, his wife Kelly, and their daughter Charlotte Belle of Newington; a brother-in-law, Angelo Pavano and Venera LoPizzo; a sister-in-law, Pina Pavano; several nieces and nephews. Besides her her husband Frank, she was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Carol Grasso. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday 9 AM at St. Ann's Church, 101 North Street, New Britain. Please go DIRECTLY to the church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday 5 to 7 PM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Ann's Church or to Avery Heights Village Fund, 705 New Britain Avenue, Hartford, CT 06106.
