Steven C. Buslewicz
March 6, 1969 - February 4, 2021
Steven C. Buslewicz, 51, of Newington, husband of Dorothy Buslewicz, passed away Thursday (February 4, 2021) at home, surrounded by the love of his family, friends, and family dog, Ryder. Steve “Spike” was a CNC Operator for Legere Woodworking proudly for 33 years, where he took pride in his work and detested “butcher” work from any other “hacks” on the line. He was the proud father of Sarah, Jake, Abigail, Matt, and Joey Buslewicz. He was the foundation of our family and provided us with necessary wit and humor much needed to get through life. We are especially grateful to have a husband and a father who was our best friend. He gave everything of himself for his family, providing us with unending love and support. A child at heart, he made the ordinary into the adventurous. He was known to never pass a roundabout without circling it seven to eight times, simply because one could. A simple outing to the grocery story turned into an endeavor one would need to train for, never leaving an aisle untouched or uninspected. Believing the family should sit and eat together, he created elaborate meals every night, made with just the proper marinade and full of love. Even Ryder, the family dog, had a designated seat at that table. He fed his family in so many ways. He understood common sense was not common. The way other drivers on the road would speed up to a red light only to slam on the breaks truly bewildered him. The time spent at the Cape with his family meant the world to him. The stress of the world always seemed to slip away as he crossed the bridge and those times there will remain with our family forever. He was always unapologetically himself. Even towards the end he would pause for a moment, look in the mirror, and apply the hair gel just right in order to achieve that special and signature “Spike” look. Simply put, he was the best husband and dad we could ever ask for. We could go on forever about him, though, as a simple man, he would find the cost of this to be absurd. We would like to take this moment to thank our many dear friends and colleagues, especially our UCONN East Hartford family, who were there for us in our time of need. Please know your love is both inspirational and overwhelming. We are so proud to call you family. We would also like to thank Beacon Hospice, particularly, Angela, who made it possible for his family to honor his last wish to be home. Public calling hours for friends and family are Monday 4 to 7 PM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. Funeral services are private. Memorial donations may be made to a nonprofit mental health organization of your choosing. Please share a memory or note of sympathy at www.carlsonfuneralhome.com
