Henry A. Dyson

Henry A. Dyson, 94, of Kensington, husband of Joyce (Brock) Dyson, passed away Wednesday (May 5, 2021) at home, surrounded by his family. He was a loving, kind and generous husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to all he knew. Born in New Britain on Nov 15, 1926, son of the late Eugene and Bessie (Beach) Dyson, Henry and Joyce lived in New Britain for many years before moving to Kensington. A graduate of New Britain High School, Class of 1945, he served with the Seabees in the U.S. Navy at the end of World War II. Henry was a graduate of TriState University, now Trine University in Angola, Indiana with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was employed as Sales Manager at the former Tuttle & Bailey Company in New Britain for over 20 years, and later owned Dyson Associates for 25 years until his retirement in 2001. Henry was a member of Kensington Congregational Church; the Shuttle Meadow Country Club; and the Round Table. He was a Past Master of Walnut Hill Lodge 139, AF&AM, now Unity Lodge; he was a 32nd degree Scottish Right Mason and was a member of Sphinx Temple Shrine and its Motor Patrol and the Jesters. Besides his wife Joyce, he leaves a son, Alderman Howard Dyson and his wife Julie of New Britain; three daughters, Janice Bradbury and her husband Richard of New Britain; Betsy Scheer and her husband Kenneth of Kensington; and Suann Cristofaro and her husband Salvatore of Edmond, OK; 11 grandchildren, Andrew Dyson, Tracy Lanzl and her husband Eric, Jennie Perfetuo and her husband Scott, Jeremy Bradbury and his wife Vanessa, Christopher Bradbury and his wife Michelle Jacquette, Matthew Scheer and his wife Morgan, Zachary Scheer, Kathryn Scheer, Devon Cristofaro, Aaron Cristofaro and Allyson Cristofaro; six great grandchildren, Chloe Bradbury, Jeremy Bradbury Jr., William Bradbury, Jaxon Bradbury, Gianna and Domenic Perfetuo; five great great grandchildren, Gina Vasquez, Madison and Alivia Hendricks, Ella and Madeline Lanzl; several nieces and nephews. Henry was predeceased by two brothers, John and Charles Dyson and a sister, Charlotte Crockett. Henry’s family wishes to express a special thank you to Masonicare Home Health and Hospice and especially to Gina and Dawn for taking extra care of Henry in his final journey. Funeral services are Wednesday (May 12) 10 AM at Kensington Congregational Church, 312 Percival Avenue, Kensington, CT 06037, followed by burial with military honors in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain.
