Ann (Dysenchuk) Godzyk

With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of Ann Godzyk, a beloved mother and grandmother who fell asleep in the Lord after being with loved ones on June 7, 2026, at the age of 100. Ann Godzyk was born in Glastonbury, CT to Eva and John Dysenchuck, proud Ukrainian immigrants. From humble beginnings during the Great Depression, Ann worked hard to help care for her family after her father passed away when she was still very young. Ann and her brothers Paul and John were dedicated to helping their mother maintain the family farm. Ann met the love of her life, John, at a Ukrainian dance, and the two shared 66 years of marriage together. Ann and John enjoyed many cherished summers at Amston Lake, where they built a summer home with the help of John's father, Aleck. The lake became a special gathering place for family and friends, filled with lasting memories. In their retirement, Ann and John spent their winters in Hobe Sound, FL, where they continued to enjoy life’s simple blessings together. Ann’s greatest joy and purpose was her family. She showed her love through her kindness, generosity, and selflessness. She was deeply proud of her role as wife, mother, and grandmother, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in all who knew her. Ann was predeceased by her beloved husband John, her son-in-law George J. Synnott, and her brothers Paul and John Dysenschuk. Ann leaves behind her daughters Carol Synnott, Barbara Glabau and her husband Robert, and son John Godzyk and his wife Sally. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Kaitlyn and Brandon Moore, Timothy and Nicole Synnott, Beth and John Sorrentino, Christine Glabau and Elizabeth Salvatore, Janet Glabau, Matthew Godzyk and Alexandra Rojas, She also leaves behind her great grandchildren Ryan and Erika Sorrentino and Emily and Ethan Salvatore. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 54 Winter St, New Britain on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 10 am. Viewing will be at 9 to 10 am at the church. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 502 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
