Christina Talareva

Christina Talareva, 45, of New Britain, beloved daughter of Juanita (Aubin) Talareva, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2026, at UConn Health Center surrounded by love. A lifelong resident of New Britain, Christina was a proud graduate of New Britain High School, Class of 1999, and later earned her Associate Degree from Tunxis Community College. For the past seven years, she served with dedication and professionalism as a Judicial Marshal at Middletown Superior Court, where she was respected by colleagues and the community she served. Above all, Christina was a devoted mother whose greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. Her warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering love left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. She was deeply committed to her community and found true fulfillment in volunteering with the New Britain High School Marching Band and supporting the Justin Wisniewski Firefighter’s Scholarship Fund, known as Ride4Justin — causes that were very close to her heart. In addition to her mother, Christina is survived by her two loving sons, Vinny Ortiz and Elijah Lanier; her cherished daughters, Sofia and Gianna Lanier, all of New Britain; her adored grandsons, Jaden and Luca Ortiz; her sisters, Nina Durinick and her husband Rudy of Rocky Hill, and Erica Talareva of Barkhamsted; her beloved aunts and uncles, Uncle Joe DiPietro, Aunt Carol DiPietro, Uncle Eric Wisniewski, Aunt Jill Wisniewski, Uncle Benji Sanchez and Aunt Leyda Ortiz; and her nieces, Dionna Talareva and Victoria Durinick. She will also be lovingly remembered by many family members and dear friends. Christina was predeceased by her grandparents, Sophie and John Paul Aubin; her uncle, Jimmy DiPietro; her aunt, Diane DiPietro; and her cousins, Justin Wisniewski, Angelo DiPietro, and Christopher Sanchez. Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 AM at St. Paul Church, Alling Street, Kensington. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
