Jean Lois Harriander Czako

Jean Lois Harriander Czako, 74, of Newington, wife of Geza "Jerry" Czako, Sr, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday October 30, 2010 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. Jean grew up in New Britain and later moved to Plainville where they raised their children, foster children and countless other children who just needed a place to stay for a while. Her home, her heart and her arms were always open to anyone who needed them. Everywhere Jean went, people loved her, especially children. Later, after moving to Newington, where she was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, she used that love for children and the Lord to serve the Lord teaching Jr. Church and teaching Emmanuel Baptist Nursery School. Her other great ministry was one of prayer and card or notes sent to people who were suffering from cancer, illnesses or who just needed encouragement and being a helper to people who had a loved one suffering from Alzheimer's. You could always count on Jean for a note and Bible verses to help lift you up and keep you in the fight, along with a helping hand. Jean demonstrated God's love in action. Jean was a wonderful testimony to the Lord Jesus Christ in her life and she worked to make sure that her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren knew the Lord. It was her biggest desire in life. Besides her husband Geza "Jerry" Czako Sr, she leaves three sons, Geza "Jerry" Czako Jr. and his wife Flo of Plainville; Steven Czako and his wife Peggy of Plainville; and John Czako and his wife Lyssa of Newington; a daughter, Kathleen Raymond and her husband Michael of Newington; 13 beloved grandchildren; 10 soon to be 11 great grandchildren; two foster sons, Russell Dodd and his wife Sandy of Florida; and Harold Coons of Southington and his former wife Sandi of New Britain; and a special friend, Sandy Kufta of Newington. She was predeceased by a son, David Czako. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 10 AM at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 296 New Britain Ave, Newington, CT 06111. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours are Monday 6 to 8 PM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain.
