Charita Kovaneshnikova

Charita Kovaneshnikova, 83, of Glastonbury, passed away Sunday (June 12, 2022) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Kiev, Ukraine. When she was two years old, the Nazis encircled Kiev. When the Nazis attacked, citizens fled to escape bombing. After the war Charita went to Kazakhstan. She immigrated to the USA to live with her daughter and her family in Manchester in 2005 before moving to Glastonbury in 2014. Charita was an accountant and bookkeeper in Kazakhstan. Surviving is her daughter, Vera Metzner of Glastonbury; a son, Yuri Kovaneshnikov of Kazakhstan; and three grandchildren. Funeral services are Wednesday 1 PM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 301 West Main Street, New Britain, CT 06051. Burial will follow in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours are Wednesday at the church from 12 noon until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church.
