Charles H. Crockett

December 7, 1921 - January 17, 2021

Charles H. Crockett, 99, of New Britain, husband of the late Celestine (Barnes) Crockett, passed away Sunday (January 17, 2021) at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. Born in Greenville, MS, he lived in New Britain since 1941. Charles worked for over 30 years at Bristol Brass until his retirement. He was a founding member and church deacon at Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Hartford and was also a former male chorus member of the church. Charles also was member of the State of Connecticut Missionary Deacon Alliance. Charles was a 65 year member of Ionic Lodge #7, Prince Hall Masons in New Britain. Surviving are two daughters, Donna Lee Crockett of New Britain and Evelyn Lindsey of Bristol as well as a former daughter-in-law, who was like a daughter to him, Fannie Kennedy of South Carolina. The last surviving of twenty two children, Charles also leaves fifteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and a great great great grandson. Charles was predeceased by two sons, Dave Crockett and Calvin Meggett Sr. WALK THROUGH calling hours are Tuesday (January 26th) 9 to 11 AM at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 45 Daly Avenue, New Britain followed by the funeral service at 11 AM.
