John Louis Baraglia

John Louis Baraglia, 72, of New Britain, passed away February 18, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer at the Hospital Of Central Connecticut surrounded by his family. A lifelong New Britain resident, son of the late John and Nellie Salak Baraglia, he graduated from E.C. Goodwin Technical school in 1959. John worked as a Foreman for 37 years at Fairview Cemetery for the City of New Britain. After retirement he was self employed continuing on his tasks as a Ground Surgeon As he liked to call it at several other New Britain Cemeteries. His entire life John loved the outdoors, especially fishing. John was a master with mechanical repair and power equipment. A "Jack of all trades", and could fix anything. John was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in New Britain. John is survived by beloved wife Wanda Krivickas Baraglia; a daughter Linda J Baraglia and her companion, Gerard Rizzi of Tampa Florida; his son, Joseph John Baraglia and wife Jennifer Baraglia as well as their two sons John T Baraglia and Jake W Baraglia, who Grandpa adored of New Britain. He also leaves his sister Diane Baraglia of New Britain. He also leaves his two precious nephews who were like sons to him, Alfons Krivickas and his wife Peggy of Southbury and their son Alfons Jr and step daughter Kymberly Gaffney; and Mario Krivickas and wife Penny of New Britain, their daughter Shelby and son Dylan Krivickas. John also leaves sister-in-law Regina Lynch and husband Larry also of New Britain. Throughout his life, John has touched so many people with his great character and humor. How he has impacted the lives of his close family members can never be equaled. Johns family would like to thank Dr. Jafri, Dr. Langsam, Dr. Sharma and Dr. Roy from Grove Hill Medical Center. And we would like to thank the Dr's and staff at the Hospital of Central Connecticut for their care of John. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday 10 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 31 Newington Avenue, New Britain, CT 06051. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Carlson Funeral Home, New Britain is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John the Evangelist Church or to the George Bray Cancer Center, c/o HOCC, 100 Grand Street, New Britain, CT 06051.
