Patricia Carnemolla Platosz

November 13, 1965 - June 5, 2008

Patricia "Patti" Carnemolla Platosz, 42, of Berlin, beloved wife of Roman Platosz, passed away Thursday June 5, 2008 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut. Born in New Britain, she was a former Newington resident moving to Berlin in 1999. Patti graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in New Britain in 1983 and received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Spanish education from CCSU. She taught at the elementary and middle school level in Glastonbury from 1989 to 1997, took time to raise her family and returned part time to Glastonbury for the past two years. A very active member of St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church in New Britain where she was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the church Sisterhood. She also volunteered at the Hubbard Elementary School in East Berlin. Patricia was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She brought joy and warmth to her family and friends. Her zest for life and commitment to family made her a much loved and respected individual. Patti was a special woman who positively impacted many lives. Besides her husband Roman, she leaves two sons, Jonathan and Gregory Platosz at home; her parents, Giovanni and Anna Milluzzo Carnemolla of Newington; a brother, Sal Carnemolla and his wife Peg of Chesterfield, VA; a sister, Carmela Russell and her husband James of Farmington; her father-in-law Wasyl Platosz of New Britain; two brothers-in-law, Adam Platosz and Myron Platosz and his wife Nadya also of New Britain; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are Monday 10 AM at St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 54 Winter Street, New Britain, CT 06051. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday 5 to 8 PM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain and Monday from 9:15 to 10 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church or to the CT Breast Health Initiative, 185 Main Street, Room 210, PO Box 566, New Britain, CT 06051.
