Jeanie (Grasso) Gagnon

Jeanie (Grasso) Gagnon, 68, of Rocky Hill, beloved wife of Roy Gagnon, passed away Thursday November 23, 2023 at Hartford Hospital surrounded by her family. Jeanie was born and raised in New Britain. She was the youngest daughter of the late Samuel and Jennie (Scollo) Grasso. She went to New Britain high school and graduated with the class of 1973. Jeanie was a member of Saint James Church of the Saint Josephine Bakhita Parish in Rocky Hill; was a former member of the Rocky Hill Women’s Junior League; a Girl Scout leader and Den mother. In her 68 years, she lived her life as a sweet, kind, humble woman, and worked tirelessly with an incredible work ethic. She was a staunch advocate for those she held dear, always rising high as a pillar of the community, no matter the circumstance. She was a jet-setting businesswoman, always fashionably dressed with a generous spritz of her signature scent. She was a soft place to land for her loved ones, always warm and welcoming, making you feel at home in her presence. She was a joy to work with; she worked for the Phoenix Insurance Company for 36 years, rising up from a Coding Clerk to Vice President, retiring in 2012. Jeanie really was like a genie in a bottle. She knew how to grant wishes, and in her life she granted many— for her family, her friends, her coworkers, her pets. She chose to dot her life with little miracles. She granted her own wishes too, of course. She loved a good vacation— a cocktail by an infinity pool, maybe a sunset on a white-sand beach in Aruba. She leaves behind many people to ponder her mysteries, remember her love, and speak her name: her husband, Roy Gagnon, two sons, Gabriel Gagnon of Oakland, CA and Parker Gagnon of Rocky Hill, a loving sister, Natalie Campbell of New Britain, many cousins and several nieces and nephews. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday (Nov 30) 10 AM at St. James Church, 767 Elm Street Rocky Hill. Calling hours will be Wednesday (Nov 29) from 4 to 7 PM at Carlson Funeral Home 45 Franklin Square New Britain, CT 06051.
